1) Tracking: Footprint Mysteries and Telltale Signs

Join in on the fun with Naturalist Doug Lowry at the North Hill Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary, Mayflower Street in Duxbury for a morning of animal tracking and learning. You will be amazed to learn what activity goes on, whether the creatures are big or small. Each set of prints tells a story about the individual species, how it gathers food, where it forages and caches and how it moves around. Like detectives, you will learn how to identify tracks and follow their stories. Meet at the North Hill Marsh Sanctuary main parking lot on Mayflower Street in Duxbury. This event is great for the whole family, and for kids ages 10 through 18 years old. The cost to participate in the learning adventure is $12 for adult members and $8 for child members, or nonmember adults are $15 and children $11.

2) The Drowsy Chaperone

The Hull High School Theatre Arts is performing their rendition of The Drowsy Chaperone on Friday, March 17th at 7:00 pm, and on Saturday, March 18th at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. The performances will take place at the Hull High School Joseph C. Doniger Auditorium, 180 Main Street in Hull. The production is a musical with much humor interjected throughout. To see the show, tickets online are $10 and if purchased at the door tickets are $12.

3) High School Book Group

Did you know there was a book group for Hingham teenagers? The High School Book Group meets on Saturdays at the Hingham Public Library, 66 Leavitt Street in Hingham. This is a wonderful opportunity to get your teens involved in thinking about what they read, and discussing themes, insights and topics with others. The chosen book is The Queen’s Thief series, by Megan Whalen Turner and culminates in May with the release of the series’ latest installment. This book just started so it is not too late to join in. The reading group welcomes all teenagers in 9th grade and up. Event though registration is encouraged, all are welcome.

4) Creative Expression

Perhaps you would like to take a day out and spend some time in reflection at Glastonbury Abbey, 16 Hull Street in Hingham. On Saturday, March 18th starting at 9:00 am Kay Trask will lead “Creative Expression as a Way of Awakening Our Spirits.” Through meditation, journaling, discussion and creative play, you can explore ways of listening more to your own personal expressions of creativity. The suggested donation is $65 which includes lunch.

5) Coffeehouse off the Square

It’s time for Coffeehouse off the Square at the Old Ship Parish House, 107 Main Street in Hingham. Starting at 8:00 pm on Saturday night, March 18th, open mic runs until 8:30 and afterwards you will be treated to featured performer Robbie O’Connell, deserts and beverages for one dollar and lots of fun. Admission is $15 at the door and proceeds benefit the Unitarian-Universalist Service Committee.
