1) South Shore Model Railway Club Spring Show

The South Shore Model Railway Club Spring Show & Open House will be this Saturday, March 11th and this Sunday, March 12th, from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm and 10:00 am until 4:00 pm respectively. This is an opportunity to view the club’s operating layout, some guest layouts, dealer tables, and a “White Elephant Table.” There will be demonstrations of model railroad construction as well. South Shore Model Railway Club is located at 52 Bare Cove Park Drive in Hingham. Admission is $5.00 for Adults, $3.00 Senior’s (65+), and $3.00 for Children (5-12, with an adult).

2) Oliver Twist

The musical Oliver Twist will be performed at St. Stephen’s Church, 16 Highland Ave in Cohasset on Friday, March 10th starting at 7:00 pm. The production features young South Shore performers from local grade schools and is put on by Actors Prep, a program for South Shore youngsters wishing to learn about musical theatre.

3) Full Moon Hike at World’s End

Sunday evening, March 12th, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, World’s End in Hingham opens its gates for a full moon hike. This walk is ideal for your entire family and friends and will be led by a World’s End Ranger. Stroll along the century-old cart paths under a full moon while learning more about World’s End, its history, fun facts, moon fundamentals and nocturnal wildlife. Be prepared to see white-tailed deer, red fox, and raccoons, and to hear Barred owls, and Eastern Screech owls. Bring a flash light and wear warm clothes to see World’s End like never before!

4) Make Your Own Walking Stick

On Saturday, March 11th, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM learn how to make your very own walking stick at Holly Hill Farm, 236 Jerusalem Road in Cohasset. Malcom White is a Rustic Farm Furniture artisan and he will lead you into the woods to find the right height stick from the proper type of wood. Once back in the barnyard, each participant will be guided and instructed to customize his or her own walking stick to take home. The event is free but donations are welcome.

5) Photography Workshop

On Saturday, March 11th at the Hingham Public Library, 66 Leavitt Street in Hingham, learn how to improve use of your smartphones, DSLRs or your point-and-shoot cameras in the Triple AAA Way of Photography. This is a hands on seminar where you will be using your device or your camera so be sure to bring it to get the most from the time spent. The class takes place from 1:30 pm until 3:30 pm and takes place in the Whitton Room.
