1) End of Summer Classic Road Race in Bare Cove Park
If you are someone who enjoys road races, here is an evening road race happening right here in Hingham, MA. The End of Summer Classic Road Race is on Friday, August 26th at 6:30 pm in Bare Cove Park. This is a five mile route entirely within Bare Cove Park in Hingham, Massachusetts. Bare Cove Park is a conservation area making for a nice, run with no concern for cars. The course itself is a mostly flat course on paved roads. All registration proceeds benefit improvements to the park. T-shirts are given to first 100 overall registrants, and there is a post-race event featuring music, appetizers, and a free beer (21 plus) under the big top at Raffaels at the South Shore Country Club. Registration fee is $40.

2) Stewardship Saturday at World’s End in Hingham
On Saturday, August 27th be a steward at World’s End in Hingham, MA. Starting time is 9:00 am and this runs until 2:30pm. Come join other park stewards at World’s End to help improve the habitats by digging in and also learn about local flora and fauna. You will learn about ecology, natural history, native birds, bugs, trees, and flowers of the Boston Harbor Islands. Wear long-sleeved shirts, long pants, socks, and sturdy shoes – no sandals. Bring lunch and a reusable water bottle. Tools will be provided. This event will run rain or shine, but may be cancelled due to severe weather. Some of the tasks, or really, labor might include: data collection, clearing vegetation, debris or trash collection, consolidating cut material into bags or piles, carrying materials, planting, trail clearing or light maintenance. Be aware that you might be asked to use hand tools, carry moderate weight, work in varied terrain, dense brush, thorns, poison ivy, and/or ticks. Please come prepared.

3) Friday Farm Dinner at Turkey Hill in Hingham, MA
Tonight, August 26th, starting at 5:00 pm come enjoy a family style dinner on top of Turkey Hill in Hingham MA. The menu features a seasonal menu of fresh food grown or raised at Weir River and other local farms. The ticket price of $48 for adults and $16 for children (non-members are $60 for an adult and $20 per child) includes family style dinner, non-alcoholic beverages, dessert, games, live music anda beautiful view from on top of Turkey Hill. 4) 149th Marshfield Fair
The 149th Marshfield Fair continues its run through Sunday, August 28th on the Marshfield Fairgrounds each day from noon until 10:00 pm. 62 acres of exhibits, learning, vendors, music, food and fun. It is one of the few fairs left featuring 4-H competition. Art exhibits, agricultural displays, music of multiple genres and the favorite demolition derby and tractor pulling all happen alongside the rides and vendors. Tickets to get in are $10 per person and children under 6 get in for free.

5) Summer Concert at Glastonbury Abbey
The Atlantic Symphony Orchestra is gracing the great lawn at Glastonbury Abbey this Sunday, August 28th at 4:30 in the afternoon. This concert features the Atlantic Symphony Chamber Players, Chelsea Basler, soprano; Xixi Zhou, pianist; and special guest, Border Road II. Savor these last days of summer by bringing along a picnic, beach chair or blanket and take in the sounds of all the musical varieties. The cost of admission is $25 for adults/seniors, $10 for people under the age of 20.
