2) Hingham Residents Perform in Legally Blond, the Musical
Hingham residents Christina Pecce, Brian Perrault and Evan Pouch are set to perform in The Company Theatre’s production of “Legally Blonde the Musical.” The production opens on July 29th, Friday, and runs through August 20th at The Company Theatre Center for Performing Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, in Norwell. The story line is about charming one’s way into Harvard Law School and follows themes of stereotyping and scandal.
To purchase tickets the box office is open Mondays through Fridays from 11 am until 6 pm. You can also call 781-871-2787 or send an email to the email@example.com. For more information or details about this show and other productions, visit The Company Theatre website.
3) Harbor Illumination and Festival
On Saturday, July 30, at dusk, the entire shoreline of Hull Bay is dotted with 1,000 flares. This annual Hull event honoring nautical lifesavers of all types is fast becoming a full day schedule. Starting with a memorial service at Hull Cemetery at 2:00 pm, music, activities, food and vendors follow at the L Street playing field. Immediately before the actual illumination is a parade of boats along the shore. This event is free, although one can opt to view the event aboard a schooner, sponsor a flare in memory of someone, or enter the boat parade, all at different costs.
For more information or to register for any of the paid options, go to the Hull Lifesaving Museum website.
4) South Shore Conservatory Concert
Coming up on Saturday night, July 30th, is another gorgeous presentation by the South Shore Conservatory titled, “A Grand Night for Singing: The Music of Rodgers and Hammerstein.” The concert begins at 7 pm. Tickets purchased before the day of the concert are $40 for pavilion and $25 for lawn seating and those purchased the night of the show are $5 more. There is no charge for children under three.
Tickets may be purchased on the South Shore Conservatory website page or by calling 781-749-7565, ext. 22.
5) Meditation Under the Stars
Meditate outside on the beautiful Glastonbury Abbey grounds on Tuesday, August 2nd beginning promptly at 6:45. This is a wonderful opportunity to relax and let your mind go. Bring blankets, a lawn chair, meditation pillows or anything at all that you will be comfortable sitting in for 45 minutes. You might want some insect repellent as well. If you want to arrive earlier you can take a walk in the Glastonbury Abbey Labyrinth, or visit the outdoor Stations of the Cross. There is also an interesting bookstore with great titles and spiritual items. If it is raining the meditation will be held in the Abbey Church.
For more information you can call 781-749-2155 ext. 300 or visit the Glastonbury Abbey website.
