1) Art Show Opening on South Street
It’s a summer theme for the South Street Gallery art show opening tonight, July 22nd, at 6 pm at 149 South Street in Hingham. Come and see paintings that feature a variety of mediums all sharing the colors of summer on the South Shore of Boston. You can view works in oil, watercolor, acrylic, and pastel and take in some summer refreshments. This is the official opening night and the exhibit will run until Labor Day. Admission is free.

2) The Blueberries Are Ready!
It is time to start picking blueberries in Scituate at Tree Berry Farm. Their rows and rows of blueberry bushes are already being picked so head to 123 Neal Gate Street in Scituate today, Friday, until 1 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 7 am until 1 pm.

3) Duxbury Music Festival
South Shore Conservatory’s 2016 Duxbury Music Festival is being held at the Duxbury Town Green starting Friday, July 22 through Sunday, July 24. The town green is located at the corner of Washington Street and Harden Hill Road in Duxbury. The selection of music includes Motown on Friday night at 7 pm, Rhythm and Blues Saturday, July 23rd starting at 6:30 pm, and the program Beethoven’s Wig for the family to enjoy on Sunday, July 24th at 10:30 am. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children. On Saturday you can enjoy the Island Creek Oyster Bar, Rum Swizzles and a buffet dinner for $90 with a cash bar. The Sunday family even features face painting, arts activities and a dance party and tickets are $30 maximum per family.

4) Scituate Annual Summer Carnival
The Scituate Knights of Columbus are hosting this much loved annual summer carnival today, Friday July 22nd from 7 pm until midnight, and tomorrow, Saturday also from 7 pm until midnight. The carnival is set up on Cole Parkway in Scituate Harbor and prices vary depending on what carnival activities you choose!

5) Evenings Under the Stars Continues with Big Swing
On Saturday evening, July 23rd, the South Shore Conservatory presents a night of music from the fabulous Swing Era. Tickets purchased before the day of the concert are $40 for pavilion and $25 for lawn seating and those purchased the night of the show are $5 more. There is no charge for children under three.
