1) South Shore Disc Golf
Come see for yourself what this up and coming activity is all about. On Sunday, July 17th, check-ins start at 8 AM for the South Shore Disc Golf’s first annual tournament at Hartsuff Park Disc Golf Course, on Hingham Street in Rockland. For registered players, this will be a full day complete with 4 rounds of 9 hole golf. The top 3 golfers will get trophies, and the top 4 place finishers receive their $30 entry fee back. There will be food for sale the day of the tournament.

2) Duxbury Music Festival’s Seaside Festival Opening Concert
This Sunday, July 17th, is the Duxbury Music Festival’s Seaside Festival Opening Concert starting at 6:30 PM.
This weekend’s program includes Andre Previn’s Trio for oboe, bassoon & piano, Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 4 in D Major and K. 218, John Mackey’s Breakdown Tango. There will be a post-concert reception with wine and light hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are $60 and the location is at someone’s private home. 3) It’s Another Evening Under the Stars, Celtic Style
South Shore Conservatory’s Evenings Under the Stars continues at the Jane Carr Amphitheater with a Celtic Sojourn including WGBH radio host Brian O’Donovan on Saturday, July 16th, at 7 PM. Celebrating the roots of Celtic music will include 2015 World Irish Dancing Championship medal winners The Miller Family and other traditional and contemporary artists from within the Celtic world. Tickets purchased before the day of the concert are $40 for pavilion and $25 for lawn seating, and tickets purchased at the door are an additional $5 each. There is no charge for children under three. For this particular presentation, cabaret seating for six is available for $140 per table, and includes a bottle of wine. There is also a preconcert champagne reception for $50 per person, and this includes onsite parking.

4) Myles Standish State Forest Centennial Family Fun Day
Myles Standish State Forest Centennial Family Fun Day is happening on Saturday, July 16th, from 10 AM until 4 PM, rain or shine, at the Charge Pond Pavillion in Plymouth. This free event includes a visit from Smokey the Bear, tours of the Fire Tower, Campfire Sing-a-long, Kayak Instruction, Crafts with Fuller Craft Museum, BBQ with Little Red Smokehouse, Forestry walk, Archeology information, and a Centennial Birthday Cake. You can also pick up the spiffy new park map, available in print only.

5) Family Movie on the Beach
On Saturday, July 16th, come to Green Harbor Beach in Marshfield to watch “Kung Fu Panda 3” outdoors and at the beach! This is a free event hosted by the Green Harbor Beach Association starting a 8:30 PM until 10:00 PM. Bring a chair, beach blanket, flashlight, bug spray, snacks and beverages.
