1) Hingham 4th of July Fireworks and Festivities
It is always a one of a kind July 4th celebration and 2016 in Hingham is no exception. On Saturday, July 2nd, the town of Hingham presents the annual 4th of July fireworks over Hingham Harbor. Find a spot anywhere near Hingham Harbor and enjoy an outstanding fireworks display. The Hingham Lions are hosting Hingham’s fireworks and the July 4th Community Celebration! 2) Before the Hingham Fireworks
On Saturday, July 2nd, starting at 5 pm there will be some activities offered just for children, Kid Yoga, taught by Meg Durkin, a certified child yoga instructor, is giving 15 minute classes all afternoon between 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm. Mats and yoga blocks are supplied to participants. There will also be face painting, a bouncy house, balloons and live music. Come over to Hingham Harbor Gazebo and have some free family fun.

3) Hingham Beach Barbeque
The Hingham Lions are unstoppable after 20 years of hosting all of Hingham’s July 4th festivities! On Saturday July 2nd, the Lions are bringing you a Beach Barbeque at 7:30 PM complete with steak tips and all the accompanying dishes. Tables and seats are reserved, and there is no need to bring anything but your appetites. Purchase tickets for the best seats for fireworks viewing, live music, and easiest access to reserved restrooms. Single tickets and family packs are available, as well as VIP packages that give you the best parking options.

4) Hingham 4th of July Road Race
The annual Hingham 4th of July Road Race starts at 7:00 AM on Monday, July 4th at the Hingham Middle School, on 1103 Main Street. It is hosted by the Hingham Recreation Commission and it is the 58th continuous running of the traditional race. Registration costs $30 to $35 and race day registration starts at 5:30 AM. Register ON JULY 3RD FOR $30 FEE. You MUST have registered to run, and unregistered runners will be diverted off the course. Race proceeds offset program costs, fund 32 Summer Program scholarships based on need, support community events, and help fund field renovations. There were over 2300 pre-registered runners last year, there is a wheelchair division, and 22 age and gender categories. The race course is 4.47 miles long ending on Main Street under the huge flag. Award ceremony for top male and female finisher. Additionally there will be 3 water stations, EMT services and bus transportation to the race start and at the finish line. Please – no pets, strollers, baby joggers, skateboards, or bikes.

5) It’s a Classic! The Hingham 4th of July Parade
The Hingham July 4th parade begins at 10:00 AM on the corner of Middle Street and Pleasant Street and is themed “Liberty and Justice for All” as selected by the Parade Committee. Hingham resident Mark Cullings was given the honor of being named this year’s grand marshal. There is a full story about Mark in the Hingham Journal. After starting at Middle and Pleasant Street, Uncle Sam will lead the parade onto Main Street and then to downtown Hingham where the route turns right onto North Street, and finishes at the Station Street parking lot.
