1) World’s End Summer Solstice Concert
Come to the stunning World’s End in Hingham for the125th anniversary and Summer Solstice Concert by watching the sunset over the Boston skyline on Saturday, June 18th from 5:00 pm until 8:30 pm. You are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner, friends and family for this longest day of the year. There will be live music to dance to.

2) Carnival and Fireworks at Nantasket Beach
The Hull Youth Football Association’s annual carnival is scheduled for Wednesday, June 15th , through Sunday, June 19th on the Hull Redevelopment Authority’s parking lot on Hull Shore Drive. This annual event features an amazing fireworks display that you can watch against the backdrop of the Atlantic ocean on Saturday night at about 9:30 PM. Rides, games, food and attractions are all provided by Rockwell Amusements. The carnival hours start at 5 PM and tickets for rides range from $20 to $30 for books of tickets.

3) Cohasset Art Festival on Cohasset Common
The annual South Shore Art Center Festival 2016 is being held this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 17th, 18th and 19th on the beautiful Cohasset town common. Quality art, handmade crafts and a huge selection of artistic offerings will be on display for the 61st year along with 85 juried exhibitor booths, live music performances, artist demonstrations, children’s art activities and a young artist exhibition. Times are: Friday from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Saturday from 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM, and on Sunday, from noon until 5:00 PM.

4) Fairy Houses on Peddocks Island
Fairy houses need building for the tiny visitors and their secret garden on Peddocks Island. Take the ferry to Peddocks Island for a 12 noon start time to the building. Gather natural materials and construct fairy-sized houses in the woods of this Boston Harbor island. This is only a one hour activity so be sure to get on an early ferry.

5) Weyfest at Southfield
On Saturday, June 18th, Weymouth Mayor Bob Hedlund’s office is presenting a giant block party at Southfield in Weymouth. This is a free, family event with live music and a festival atmosphere that celebrates the community that Weymouth is. There will be a Torch Bearer/Lighting ceremony starting at the original landing spot of the first settlers at Wessagusett in 1622. A series of runners will advance the Torch through the streets of Weymouth. and arrive at Southfield at 11:00 AM. Tim Sweeney, Weymouth’s own Olympian, will run the final section of the relay and hand the torch off to Mayor Hedlund. For the full day of events and interests visit the Weyfest website.
